Restylane Injections

Wrinkle Free: Benefits of Restylane Skin Injection Treatments Restylane is unique as a wrinkle filler in that it is the first FDA approved biodegradable form of hyaluronic acid. This crystal clear gel is called NASHA, or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. The benefits of hyaluronic acid in our skin is significant. It works with the connective tissues to bring moisture and volume to the skin. As a result of the aging process, less hyaluronic acid are produced. In turn, the skin starts to form wrinkles. Restylane skin injection treatments work to replenish the skin with hyaluronic acid, thus adding moisture and volume back into the skin. One of the most significant benefits of Restylane is that it is biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. This factor drastically lowers the post treatment reaction concerns.

Alternatives to Restylane injections could be Collagen, Cosmoplast & Cosmoderm, Perlane, Radiesse, Fat Transfer or Juvederm.

Since hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body, the skin does not react to the material. Therefore, there is no need to have a skin test before a treatment with Restylane. Restylane has been highly effective for the treatment of moderate to severe wrinkles in the facial area. Typically Restylane skin injection treatments are used for the reduction of lines around the mouth, facial contouring in the cheeks and mouth area, lip augmentation and or enhancement, and altering the nasolabial folds. Most patients find that results are immediate and can last for 6–9 months.

If you feel that Restylane skin injection treatments are a viable option for you, please contact our office for a private consultation appointment. At the consultation, the physician will determine if Restylane is the best option for you. Restylane injection cost varies depending on the number of treatment sites and the amount of Restylane required to achieve your aesthetic goals. The physician could help you determine the price range prior to treatment if needed.

Typically the treatment time can take anywhere from 20–30 minutes. The physician will administer the injections to the selected areas just under the skin. Pain varies depending on each individual patient’s tolerance threshold. If you have anxiety regarding the level of discomfort, please discuss these concerns with your physician prior to treatment.

After injection, there can be slight redness and swelling at the injection site. Some patients have experienced tenderness or an itching sensation in the treatment areas. This is a very normal side effect of an injection and the inconvenience is temporary, it generally goes away in a day or two.

We recommend keeping an icepack on the treated area for 15 minutes after injection to reduce possible swelling. You may take Arnica (under the tongue) every two hours for the first day or two if any bruising occurs.
